No matter who I pair her with, I generally portray Ditzy/Derpy as a clumsy and somewhat niave but very sweet-natured pony who most ponies don't understand and pretty much ignore unless they're making fun of her. I guess it's because that's what my childhood/teenhood school-years were like so I write stories where the victim of bullying gets a happy ending. Not that my life isn't happy; it is but...well...there are some scars that will never heal and even though I hate to admit it, there's a part of me refusing to forgive my bullies. Part of the reason the latter hurts so much is because my mom has told me several times that she was and is so proud of me for always heading out to school expecting it to be a better day.

I honestly wanted to stay away from the idea that Ditzy [I tend to call her Derpy when I talk about her, but in the story officially she will be Ditzy Doo] get's bullied and ended up softening it to just teased, but after seeing the recent episode I realized yeah the ponies can be jerks. I'd forgotten how unnecessarily fucked up Diamond and Silver actually were. Not that I really expect it to travel to her adult years, or at least not as badly.
I can't say I blame you for not forgiving them.. I wasn't actually bullied when I was young, but I WAS teased by some people now and then but for the most part except for my excellent circle of friends, I was pretty much ignored. I was bad at socializing anyway. But if I HAD been, I think to this day I would feel the same as you.

It's only bullying as a filly for the most part. In adulthood, it's mostly restricted to cruel comments and rude behavior but there is the occasional pony who does things like shove her or knock things out of her hooves.
The whole thing with not forgiving my bullies being hurtful is because other than that, I'm a very forgiving person who's willing to give people a second chance. But I guess my thoughts aren't uncommon.

I know most people feel like she's probably.. dimwitted. Which she might be, she could easily be a slow pony. Honestly I would probably make her more like Pinkie; out of the loop because she's in her own head and random as fuck and oblivious to nearly everything. I think she's just a silly pony x3
