Description
As suggested by here is the latest addition to the Color Spectrum series, this time featuring Chel.For Chel I tried to give her an outfit inspiried by Mayan fashions, an outfit inspired by Inca fashions and an outfit inspired by Aztec fashions, since I could not recall if they ever said what ethnicity the El Dorado-ians were. I also gave her a dress inspired by the Spanish fashions of the 1500's as that is when The Road To El Dorado took place and Miguel, Tulio, Chel, Altivo and Bibo ride off to return to Spain.

Like I said, the easiest. That being the easiest to interpret and the easiest for children unfamiliar with different customs and religions to understand without becoming too complex. First you must introduce them to the concept of something different from what they are used too before you can go into details. That being said, it can also be construed as being a bit lazy to not define their ethnicity outright.
Although I'm almost positive they were Mayans. They mention Xibalba when they "sacrifice" both gold and humans and Xibalba is the Mayan underworld.

It might just might be me, but I thought El Dorado seemed to be inspired by Mayan culture a little. They talk about Xibalba, the underworld, a concept from Mayan mythology. As well, I think that ball sport was Mayan, and not Aztec inspired. But that's just from what I derived. But it might have also been an amalgamated Meso-American culture and not to focus on any one, so as to make it more mysterious.
