I really don't get the witching about Merida's dress in disney princess all i see is Merida's basic dress with gold stripes and celt patterns to match the other princesses. Besides she only hated the light blue one because she couldn't shoot in the darn thing. Every other dress she had no problems shooting in they simply did for Merida what they did for rapunzel by adding some more flare to the commonly seen dress.

There were people complaining about it? Because they changes really aren't that different from her regular dress at all.

Oh yeah.... people were saying "merida would never wear anything sparkly because she hates sparkly" So much that Disney had to put it more in line with what they thought Merida was rather than what she is, when the redesigns were launched just ahead of her debut. I always presumed that the redesigns are to take place after the movies and speaking of redesigns... Tiana, Snow White, Rapunzel and Ariel were the ones people actually liked because they looked closest to their movies even with the new look, Ariel and Tiana being best. Belle, Aurora and Jasmine were neutral, Cinderella,Mulan,Pocahontas and Merida were loathed especially Mulan when her dress was gold and red and she had a bit of a pale tone, people begged Disney to make it green! They had done the gold/red thing so she looked more princessy but the pale tone people accused of white wash and don't get me started on how people cried "savages savages barely even human!" with Pocahontas let's just say it's a good thing that Poca's redesign now has more turquoise in it.

You can tear the blue dress on your own, it's really not that difficult. As for the corset outfit, I might add that at a later date.
