Yes, technically they are Hasbro's Original Characters.
I'm not sure why the fandom doesn't use the proper term "Fan Character" or "FC" for their own works, as they are using someone else's idea to base theirs off of. Β That's what all the characters made by those not at Hasbro technically are, but... Eh. Β Can't beat them, then join them, I guess.
Also, replying to somebody's comment from May 1st is...kind of odd and unnecessary clutter for the original commenter, considering views could have changed within seven months....

That's like saying Midnight Strike, Holly Dash or Wild Fire aren't someone else's OCs, but when they are. Β Just credit him at least, he has pictures of Stellar in his gallery way before the episode's airing.

I never said it wasn't his OC, I only said that his OC was now canon. I honestly had no idea the creator had a DA account and so I have added that now. I was only aware of his full name and that he was in the show as a result of the Make A Wish Foundation. However you will notice that on my Holly Dash base I also did not tell people to ask the creator before using the mane. Because these characters are so unique in being both fan characters and canon characters it makes it a strange predicament.

Actually, this OC is the property of someone else. Because of the Make a Wish Foundation, Hasbro put in this OC to the show. They do NOT own Stellar Eclipse, they simply put him in the show.

well that is kinda cool on how they put the oc in the show i wish Midnight and Pizza could be in the show but due to them being recolors of twilight alittle with the mane style and that i don't think they will be able to but the Only reason i made them like that is because i really love Twilight i am not really copyrighting or anything

I'd love it if they even acknowledge the existance of Star or any other of my OC's. Heck even a small background nod to my inner oc shippin(for example; on a dark night episode in ponyville there could be a silhouette of Star x Pinkamena) or anything would just make me explode. And honestly i dont think hasbro would care if there were Twilight recolors with slight edits :3 They do it all the time in the background and bindbag ponies. But what if theres a contest one day where we could send ponies to hasbro for a background appearence or speaking role? Maybe they'll acknowledge the OC's and put them in show more often with all the praise Stellar is getting! ovo

Stellar Eclipse was actually somepony's OC! He got featured in the episode <3 Which is really cool! I wish my OCs could appear in the show... So it is good to comment like that! Because it is kind and well-mannered to ask before you use someone else's copyrighted material. Like a mane style, for example ^^
