Description
Just a color test. I realized as I was working on this that I actually don't know what color her hair beads or her belt are, so I made them both brown.I'm actually happy with the background being pastel like that. I think it'll make the lines show up. And I also think it'll make the figure stand out more in the foreground. I really hope that she does. Also, because blood is interesting, the blood stands out.
When I color this with my colored pencils, the colors will almost invariably be a little darker because that's just how it turns out. I'm probably going to add some scuffs and dirt on her face, arms, and clothing. I will hopefully not forget to add her bowstring, too! And yeah, those are supposed to be specks of blood along the ground and the wall, because blood drips.
She used her other arm-sleeve to tie up the wound on her arm. That's why the bandage there is black.
Yes/no? Should I try again? I spent 2 hours on this and I'm kind of afraid it might look awful.

I think this looks great so far. Try not to get the colors too much darker. I think the dusty/faded look really suits the image so try to aim for the pastels. =3

I did my best! I actually knew ahead of time which colored pencils I was going to use to achieve the pastel look - when I went to color it, I pulled them all directly out of my box because I knew what I was looking for - so I think it turned out pretty well. But we'll see.
Check out the finished version that I'm just about to put up in my gallery! I think it's pretty true to the color test.
