I liked reading all the thoughtful comments on this - although my first reaction was much different than any above - it was:
"Jeezus! What a fucking creepy trippy scary ass work of art." LOL!
But it is a nice piece and the title seems perfect. I like all the different stuff you're doing and your gallery has become so diverse. Very cool! So much stuff at da is starting to bore me to death since it all looks the same.

Its like you've gone back and sat where you played as child ,only experience and memory force you to perceive your surroundings as an adult. dimensions seem distorted . You sit till it dawns on you that all the visual stimuli hasn't changed..You have , your vessel, the mind that's trying to reconcile your perceptions as a child and as an adult dont tally. The script of this world remains static, Its stage aged players however can never tell the same story twice.

Saw this in Jess's favourites & I fell in love with it, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Lonely, even though may not be much different from others around, she's different, thus she has to leave and find her way to her own, if there is such a thing. Out in the cold, the bright lights and starlit sky, all part of a place where she isn't accepted, nor where she wants to be.
With warmth of her few possessions she leaves to find her peace.
There's a hint of Paddington bear in the image.
A lovely image, beautifully composed and the title leave the interpretation open.

i'm fascinated by the grotesque, so i love this monstrocity of yours. i remember in first grade, we had to make these puppets with dried apples for heads. and they all came out looking like these evil things, but all the little girls tried so hard to make them look pretty, with nice cloth dresses, but that made them look even more terrifying. this is a beautiful piece. i love the teddy.

The kind of artwork I like is the kind where I can sit back and ask myself, "How does that make me feel? What do I see?"
When I look at your artwork and ask myself that question, I end up getting such a vast amount of thoughts and feelings. Just about every time.
To me, this is a journey into the past. Maybe that's a safe place or maybe it's an obstacle. The stars at first made me want to think "magical" but the more I look them and the overall composition and try to interpret it, the stars more remind me of the future...a future never to be seen.
Flip this piece horizontally and it would be a different picture altogether
The colors are very rich and seem to individually clash and/or compliment with everything. Beautiful work.

Very interesting use of signifiers... I like the way you've used them to create unexpected and contrasting ideas and feelings... eg. the teddy bear, which is a signifier of childhood, usually used as a sentimental symbol in imagery to denote something cute or innocent or childlike in the yukkiest of ways... I love how you've used it here, with a character who isn't cute, but neither is it a sentimental portrayal of suffering. The figure's mouth is sewn so it doesn't speak, but it's living, travelling and... it's okay to be "ugly"!!
The title suggests something more... it's definitely a 'confident' image, the character isn't portrayed as being pathetic...
I'd like to know more about this image, it fascinates me!
Damn, I love that red box... and the way it's being carried, held down, which emphasises the holding up of the bear in the other hand...
