Black Widow. This one took a whole lot longer. I never use references for my art 95% of the time and this one i had to give up and use references for the hand as it was taking too long to finish. Requested byRelated content

Well I was wondering if I was the only one?! But, It's nice to know that others that are as talented as you have the same problem. Makes me feel like not giving up! I started drawing/ painting this past August. For someone who is 40. I feel like I got a lot of catching up to do. It's nice to get comments from other people other than my friends or family or loving wife. I really couldn't get a reaction. So for someone who who had like 1 art class in 11th grade (for when the art teacher never showed up but drunk.). Haha. I am learning a lot from artist such as yourself. Thanks for sharing your art. I personally think it is never too late to learn art... it is not like riding a bike or playing video games where age does indeed affect our reflexes. 
believe you me, even if i havent had any professional background in art or schooling, ive been dabbling in it as a hobby eversince i was a kid and there is always something new to learn and there IS A LOT i struggle with when i draw!

I would doodle. But never draw anything. I was sick in the hospital and recovering from a hernia surgery. So for a week I couldn't do anything. Then this year my wife miscarried. We tried ten years to have children. I had almost lost her on the operating table. She made it. However, I kind of needed something to get me out of this funk. Not to mention high blood pressure. So the doctor prescribed the best medicine I had ever been given. Get a Hobby. So I started drawing. Now, I love the old Sci fi, westerns, tv cartoons of the 1950s-1980s. Flash Gordon, batman, Lone Ranger, zorro, etc. I thought I can draw that. Well, then I had friends tell me what I was doing was pretty good. I thought really? Well, I wanted to see if it was good or people were just being nice. So that's why I put my stuff on deviantart. That and I don't know any artist that are friends. So, I thought I could make some here. They could show me a thing or two. I know I like simple. I'm not complicated. Right now, I'm into the basics...body forms, perspectives, shading, light and shadow, etc. great talking with you! Have a great week!

Thanks man! i was juz drawing Marvel characters that i havent done before and Widow is one of em. I think the movie just made her uberpopular to non comicbook fans

It looks great. I used to never use references...then I went to heavily using references which made me unhappy. Now I'm in between.

It shouldnt bro... using references can actually make one's artwork better. I know this piece could be at the very least 25% better and 100% faster to finish if i used references. I juz want to be able to do my art by juz imagination alone and there are times that i have to give in.
