Starlight Glimmer was such a great villain, but I wasn't a fan of her sudden reform at the end of season five. Personally, I felt that it was missing something, but season six has shown that her reform is still in a work-in-progress. Starlight is working through her own demons, while learning the magic of friendship, which is quite a challenge for her.With that said, considering the insane number of comparisons between Starlight and Legend of Korra villain, Amon, her defeat also bore similarities with Kuvira's defeat. Both were beaten when the protagonists showed them empathy and compassion. However, unlike Kuvira--who was arrested and thrown into prison following her surrender--Twilight Sparkle took Starlight under her wing (Thanks M.A. Larson) to become her pupil; much like she once was for Princess Celestia.
