It was late, there were several letters waiting since the prior afternoon, the gathered post simmered on the desk still ...He was thoroughly spent ... The bed was all he wanted.
After briefly examining the postings, he set his wand down upon the accumulation, He yawned twice more before surrendering to his fatigue, another yawn took him - this would not do.
He would dedicate himself to this task first thing in the morning, after a decent nights sleep, for now his pillow was all he could think of ...
He began taking down the buttons of his sleeve one by one as he made his way to the bedroom, the ritual of the buttons would occupy him for quite some time before he found his pillow and the sweet comfort of the linens.
The correspondence would never be answered, the next night would finish without him.

I had to go back and reread this one, I had forgotten how sad I was when he was killed off in the original books *sigh*

Yeah, I was re-reading Deathly Hallows recently, and then had to go look again for the extrait for "After all this time. I hate it that JKR killed him off, I feel she "skated" over the scene, ( in the movies it got a bit more definition, I find),Β and that's why I am so determined to find a way of saving him. And it certainly won't Β involve any of the Golden Trio! Probably Minerva, and one or two more highly unexpected people. I'd choose Remus, but I can't revive him as well - sigh!Β

Im also glad that there are so many varied ideas in fan fiction about alternative out comes to his destiny, i'm often surprised to read something from way out in left field, gosh! why did I not think of that , or, WHAT!, that is so flipping impossible ... ha ha ha ha ha
Have fun with it, it's not religious doctrine, it's just stories, some take it much too seriously, for myself, I love the Muse and what he offers, I take it for what it is ~ fantasy ~
I like the idea of Minerva MacGonagal saving him somehow, that always warms my bones to know she has a soft spot for his grumpy scowling nature ... hee hee hee
