There was no possible way they could catch him now … he had run like a mad thing down into the glade, his lungs on fire …

His goal sought and achieved left them puzzled and wondering at his narrow escape … for they were certain that they had him … He had disappeared in the blink of an eye …

Now the tranquil afternoon was his … there was still sufficient light left for a simple bit of aimless meandering …
