"Briag...Briag, come over here." The blond boy laughed.

"Hold on, kid. I can't see anything through this fog..." Briag responded.

The calls from the younger figure continued to the older one through the thickening fog.

The next thing they knew, they were surrounded by fire and flying glass. There was broken lab equipment everywhere. Briag had lost sight of his companion. He was alone again.

He remembered this place. It was the night of the explosion. He looked around for the others that were caught in it but had no luck. The rest of the scientists were scattered across the room in opposite directions. They were far away from him.

The raven-silver stripped haired man sighed shakenly, coughing up blood. His freshly cut flesh ached and he felt his body getting colder. Darkness seeped in then...

"Bar..Xigbar!"

Xigbar jolted up in his chair, blinking and rubbing his remaining good eye. He looked around the room in a daze until his vision focused on the concerned face of Demyx.

"Are you all right? That's the third time you've fallen asleep straight through a meeting this week. I covered for you this time but next time, be more careful, okay?"

"I..fell asleep? Oh man, I'm sorry, kid. I'll deal with Mr. Superior next time, I swear." Xigbar promised.

"It's okay, Xiggy. But seriously...I'm worried about you. You've never done this before. Are you sleeping at night?" Demyx frowned, gently caressing Xigbar's scarred cheek.

"Not really..."

Xigbar couldn't tell Demyx about the dreams because he couldn't understand them himself. Well, he knew about the explosion because he remembered bits and pieces of it. But that blonde boy, he had no idea who he was. He almost wanted to go back to sleep so he could dream more about him. If he had more of those reoccurring dreams, maybe he could uncover their meaning.

"But why not? If you're lonely...I can sleep with you." Demyx offered and kissed his cheek.

"Nah, I'm fine. Besides, Xemnas is not too keen on us being in each other's rooms. It messes up the order of things and all that bull shit." Xigbar growled a little and looked away.

"You know, sometimes I wish I could just break free of this damned place and take you with me. But it's not that easy. The Superior likes to keep all his birds in one, big cage. And if one bird even tries to fly away to freedom, the master's right hand man reports it to him and that bird gets punished. I mean, looked what happened to Axel and Roxas. That's why we need to keep a low profile."

"I know but it's so unfair!" Demyx hugged Xigbar and pouted. "You're not sleeping well and you deserve company to help soothe you until you resume your normal sleeping cycle!"

"Demyx...I'll be all right. Don't worry so much." Xigbar smiled softly and stroked Demyx's sandy blond hair. "If I need help getting to sleep, I'll let you know, okay?"

"Okay." Demyx smiled back and purred. "Can we at least cuddle before you go to bed tonight?"

"Demyx, we can't..."

"Oh, come on!" The younger Nobody nudged him. "I want to cuddle!"

"All right, all right. But just a quick one." The older Nobody sighed and shook his head. "I just can't resist that face of yours."

"Yay!" Demyx grinned with delight and kissed Xigbar. "I look forward to it!"

"Demyx..." Xigbar simply laughed and kissed him back. "You're silly." He looked at the huge clock on the wall. "We better return to our rooms before Xemnas and his dog come around and accuse us of 'inappropriate behavior'." Xigbar rolled his eye while Demyx laughed.

And so, they went on their way.

That night after their cuddle, Xigbar kissed Demyx goodnight before the sitar player snuck soundlessly back to his room. Xigbar smiled as he watched him go then leaned back onto his bed, staring at the ceiling. He debated about walking on the ceiling until he fell sleep but decided that'd be too boring.

Now he was sorry that he had refused Demyx's offer. But he knew it was for the best. He didn't want Demyx to get in trouble for sleeping in his room on the off chance he did get caught. He cared too much about the younger Nobody for him to get punished for something they were both at fault for.

I really should find a way to get out of here...Then Demyx and I can do whatever we want. Xigbar thought to himself.

It would mean betraying the organization but what other choice is there?

He sighed heavily and rolled onto his side.

And those strange dreams on top of it all...This is too much. It's a pain in the butt. But, I do want to find out who that blond kid is...

Xigbar closed his golden eye and took a deep breath then let it out.

Well, there's only one way to find out.

Xigbar drifted to sleep. He was going to dive into his dreams again and find that boy.
