Description Xigbar found himself dreaming of the boy again. But this time, it was more detailed. He was in the middle of what looked like to be a warehouse.

He didn't remember this place as clearly as he did the shattered and torn lab but maybe this would give him a clue as to what happened before the explosion, what he was before he became a scientist and more importantly, where the mysterious boy came from.

Hearing voices, the Nobody turned around. There were four children sitting on top of crates talking and laughing.

As he cautiously got closer, he could see that one of them was the blond boy. He was playing with what looked like to be a ring on a piece of white string. The ring was silver banded with a teardrop sapphire at the center. It looked too big to fit on one of his fingers which would explain why he wore it around his neck instead.

"Do you think Briag's going to come back soon?" The boy asked.

"Of course he is, don't worry about it. He'd never let something happen to us." One of the girls replied.

"Yeah, I bet he's getting a job right now so we can eat better." The other girl added.

"That's right. Don't worry so much, Myed." The last one of the group, another boy said.

Suddenly, the door opened. The children rose to their feet. They went to greet their caretaker but the someone that was in the door frame was not the someone they had been waiting for.

The strange man who stood in Briag's stead was large, bulky, and completely dressed in dark colors. A wicked, crooked smile graced his lips as he looked down on the unsuspecting children who now wore expressions of fear.

They scrambled away from the stranger and hid behind the crates they'd just been sitting on not a mere moment ago. The two girls held each other while Myed and the other boy, Alan tried to think of a way to signal Briag- wherever he was, so he could help them.

Fog made its way into the dream once more and faded it out before the scene had the chance to finish. Now all Xigbar saw was what he gazed upon every day- darkness.

The golden eyed Nobody woke up with a start and coughed, rubbing at his throat. He blindly reached for the glass of water that was on his bedside table then drank it slowly. When he was done, he set the empty glass back down and ran a hand through his zebra colored locks.

I saw him in my dreams again. That boy, Myed...Where have I heard that name before? And that ring, it seems so familiar.

Xigbar got out of bed and slipped a purple bathrobe on, walking over to the large window at the end of his room that had a bench beneath it. He sat down then looked out the window, nearly blinded by Kingdom Hearts' moonlight as it shone through the sheer curtains.

Xigbar mumbled, rubbing at his eye to get the last of the sleep out then looked out again.

Those kids...I don't know who they are but they know who I am. Or was... Did I take care of them? I don't remember.

The whole thing made Xigbar's head spin. He needed to know the answers. And he had to know them now.

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. He scowled and sighed, walking up to the door to answer it. He opened it to see Demyx there and the scowl was quickly replaced with a grin.

"Hey kid. What's up?"

"How did you sleep last night, Xiggy?"

"Um...good I guess." Xigbar scratched the back of his head. "Anyway, what brings you here so early in the morning?"

"There's going to be another meeting soon. I just thought I'd give you the heads up." Demyx replied.

"Thanks. Too bad I can't skip out on the meeting. There's much better things to do than listening to Xemnas yammering on about mindless shit..." Xigbar purred and pulled Demyx close, kissing him deeply.

"Xigbar!" Demyx giggled and kissed him back.

"What? I woke up, saw your beautiful face behind my door, and now I'm in a kissy mood. It's enough to make anyone feel great." Xigbar's grin widened and kissed Demyx all over his face.

"Say, let's skip the meeting and go out on the town. What do you say?"

"But Xiggy, you know we can't...You said so yourself." Demyx frowned.

"Demyx, we need to live a little. One missed meeting won't hurt. Besides, I'll take the blame if we get caught."

"Xigbar..." Demyx looked away and sighed. "Fine. But if you're taking the blame, I'm going to be right there beside you."

"I know you will." Xigbar smiled. "Let's go."

"But Xiggy...Don't you think you should wear something more than that?" Demyx pointed to Xigbar's bathrobe.

"Oh, right! Silly me. I'll be right back!" Xigbar ran off to change.

"Okay." Demyx laughed and smiled. "Silly Xiggy..."

Then the sitar player frowned.

I can't help but think he's keeping something from me though. I know he's usually happy to see me but there was something about that scowl and his body language. Something's up. And I'm going to find out what it is. I can't be too obvious though or he'll suspect something.

Demyx perked up as he heard Xigbar come back and put back on a smile. "Are you ready now, Xigbar?"

"Yep. Let's go." Xigbar took Demyx's hand and proceeded to walk down the hall with him.

~~~~~
Once out of the castle, the two were more at ease. Although the worry they might get caught remained in the back of their minds, everything was quite peaceful. It'd been ages since Xigbar and Demyx had any real proper alone time together. Usually, missions and such got in the way. They never saw one another with their hetic schedules. But now, now they had plenty of quality time to spend with each other.
It was too bad that there was tension in the air all the same.
Demyx knew something up with Xigbar. Xigbar probably sensed that Demyx knew about his situation but he wasn't saying anything. The whole thing made interacting awkward.
It was uncanny how that the two Nobodies had developed a empathy for each other. For beings who weren't supposed to have hearts, they were just as in sync as two Somebodies in love were. That made the whole not having hearts thing into one of those big questions. A question they were sure that the other Nobodies and even Xemnas must've asked themselves at least once.
Xigbar breathed in the fresh air and sighed, looking at the love of his life who was beside him. They were still holding hands as if it were some magic spell that would keep them safe from Xemnas' wrath should he discover them missing. There was no doubt in the sharp shooter's mind that he would. The Superior was no fool.
I know it was foolish of me to bring Demyx outside the castle walls but...I needed some fresh air to get away from it all. And some company as well. Those dreams are driving me crazy. I can't figure it out no matter how hard I try. I wish I could tell Demyx but I'm not even sure of them myself. I can't answer questions when I have no answers of my own.
Xigbar sighed deeply, kissing Demyx's hand which earned him a kiss in return. Then Demyx looked deeply into Xigbar's single golden eye as if searching for something to unlock the secrets of his soul.
"Is something on your mind, Xigbar?"
"Kind of..." Xigbar answered.
"Well, what is it?"
"I can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"Because, I'm not sure what it's about myself."
"Oh, it's one of those I see..."
"Demyx, I would tell you if I could but I need to figure it out first before I discuss it with anyone."
"Even me?" Demyx frowned, his sapphire eyes full of hurt.
"Yes...I'm sorry, Demyx."
"Don't be sorry Xigbar. I-" Demyx paused when he heard familiar foot steps.
The foot steps kept coming and coming until they finally stopped. As the blond turned around, his eyes met with enraged ambers. Demyx let out a cry of terror and backed away from Xemnas, hiding behind Xigbar for protection.
Xigbar narrowed his eye to a slim crescent as he met face to face with the silver haired leader of the organization. He kept one reassuring hand on Demyx's shoulder while he manifested a gun in the other, giving the Superior a death glare he alone dared to give the man.
"Well, well...Out for a stroll, are we? That's funny...Considering that I gave you no orders to leave the castle and expected you to be at the meeting like everyone else." Xemnas paced back and forth in front of the other two Nobodies.
"Now tell me, why did you do such a thing, hm? Why did you disobey my orders, Number Two? You used to be so obedient."
"Why? Because there's more to life than your damn orders believe it or not, Xemnas. We deserve to have the freedom to go where we please."
"I beg to differ, Number Two. If you want to continue existing in this world, you have to listen to me. Where else do you think a Nobody such as yourself is welcome? We live in darkness because it is what fate has decided for us.  We don't belong with Sombodies any more. We are monsters to them. That is why we need to become whole. So we can live among them again. Isn't that what you want?"
Xigbar sighed and lowered his gun. "Well, yes but..." He shot it straight back up and fired at Xemnas. "I can become whole again on my own! So can Demyx! We refuse to be your caged birds any more!"
"You traitor..." Xemnas glared at Xigbar and deflected the bullet with his crimson blades. "I'll reteach you the meaning of obedience!" The dark skinned Nobody charged at the other, rage making his blood boil.
Xigbar gently pushed Demyx away from himself so he could face the Superior head on. Demyx watched as sword met gun, Superior vs. The Follower. He wanted to help out Xigbar but he was too scared. He clenched onto something under his robe for comfort. It was a ring he had since he was a Somebody. He forgot where he got it from but it always protected him.
The battle went on until Xigbar was thrown to the ground. Xemnas grabbed Xigbar by the chest where his heart should be and squeezed it hard which made Xigbar cry out in agony.
"Now...are you going to come back with me now or do I have to harm you more? Answer me, now. Or else Number Nine suffers as well."
"Y-yes. I'll go back with you. Don't hurt him..."
"I knew you'd see things my way." Xemnas let go of  Xigbar's chest and turned on his heel. "Number Two, Number Nine, follow me."
The both of them nodded and followed after Xemnas back to the castle.
