Xigbar couldn't believe he had lost to Xemnas. He was sure he was able to take him on but he had been defeated. And in front of Demyx too. Talk about embarrassing...

He wanted to see Demyx to make sure he was all right. Xigbar was sure he needed some comfort. The only problem was that they were both confined  to their rooms as punishment for disobeying the Superior. If he tried to get to the other Nobody's room through portals or even ceiling travel, he'd get caught by Saix and Xaldin who were standing guard outside of his door.

Portals won't work because someone will just follow me. Walking on the ceiling won't work either because one, my ponytail dangles down and two, I leave foot prints. Damn it...Why do they have to make things so difficult? Xigbar sulked.

This sucks...I can't even see him now because I didn't think things through. Demyx could've made water clones of us to go to the meeting for us but no, I rushed him off so fast that we didn't stop to think of a real plan to stall Mr. Superior and his followers.

Xigbar perked up, seeing something odd on the floor. It was a puddle of water. It was strange because the castle rarely had any leaks of any kind which only meant one thing- Demyx had sneaked out of his room by turning himself into a puddle. Who said that kid wasn't smart?

Demyx re-solidified himself and smiled, immediately hugging Xigbar with a soft noise. "Hi Xiggy."

"Hi Demy." Xigbar returned the hug then nudged him. "So..you learned a new trick, eh?"

"Yeah...I have a water clone in my room too just in case they check in to see if I'm there."

"Smart move, kid. Now, how about we use this alone time of ours to cuddle and cook something up so we can get out of here." Xigbar kissed his cheek.

"Okay..." Demyx purred.

Xigbar smiled and led Demyx over to his bed. He laid down then pulled Demyx ontop of him. The older Nobody ran his fingers through the sitar player's soft hair, teasing the ends of the trade mark mullet his lover wore. Soft lips pressed against seemingly rough ones that were tender to touch.

Demyx stroked Xigbar's scarred cheek, gazing upon him with softened eyes. He lovingly nuzzled the eye patch that covered up the sharp shooter's bad eye out of a plea to see it, making a special noise only Xigbar could understand.

Xigbar laughed, smiling tenderly at Demyx. "How can I say no to such a sweet face?"

He removed the eye patch, revealing the eye underneath. It was closed with a single, slender vertical scar that ran from his temple to the beginning of his cheek.

Demyx ran a finger tip over the scar and kissed it with a soft purr. Then he kissed all over Xigbar's face which made the golden eyed man laugh, hugging the boy he trusted with his life flesh to him.

"And just what are you doing, young man? How am I supposed to love you up if you're occupying me with your kisses, hm?"

"Sorry..." Demyx stopped and laughed softly.

"That's better." Xigbar grinned and nibbled Demyx's neck.

He licked and nibbled Demy's neck which made the other boy blush with tiny squeaks. Xigbar finished off Demyx's neck with a kiss then winced, holding his chest. It still hurt from when Xemnas had squeezed it. With a sound of discontent, he got off of Demyx and rubbed the sore area of his chest where he had been attacked.

Demyx frowned and sat beside Xigbar, putting his hand over his. "It still hurts, doesn't it?"

"Yeah." Xigbar scowled, cursing his wounded chest for ruining the moment with Demyx.

"I can heal it if you want...My water has healing abilities in it." Demyx offered.

"Sure. Go ahead, give it a shot." Xigbar replied.

At that, Demyx nodded and summoned his sitar. He played a gentle melody, swirls of water gathering in the air. He stopped playing when he had enough water and absorbed it into his hands then unzipped the front of Xigbar's black leather robe with care, examining the damage.

Demyx frowned at the big red splotch on Xigbar's chest. It looked painful. He touched the wound gently, running his finger tips over it. With a soft pale blue light, the sore spot was gone. The younger Nobody smiled at his handiwork and kissed Xigbar's chest as a reward for being a good patient.

"Thank you." Xigbar purred and pulled Demyx close.

"Your welcome." Demyx purred back. "Now, what do you suppose we do to get out of here?"

"Well, sneaking off and then facing Xemnas head on after he found us missing didn't work." Xigbar sulked regretfully.

"No, it didn't but you at least tried to fight him, Xiggy. That's braver than anything I would've done." Demyx looked away.

"Demyx..." Xigbar sighed and tenderly held his chin, guiding his love's gaze back towards him. "It's all right to be afraid sometimes. Everyone has a fear of something. Even me."

"Really? What are you afraid of, Xigbar?"

"Losing you." Xigbar kissed Demyx passionately. "That's why I try so hard to protect you."

"Oh..." Demyx blushed and smiled. "Then, I'll try my best too. I want to protect you in return, Xiggy."

"Then we'll protect each other, Demyx. As it should be."

"Mmmhm..." Demyx yawned a little.

"Tired?" Xigbar nudged him.

"Yeah." Demyx cuddled into Xigbar.

"Then sleep, my love. We'll think of a plan after a well deserved rest." Xigbar cuddled back and embraced Demyx with all the love in the world.

Demyx nodded and soon, his eyes closed. He drifted off to sleep in the arms of his beloved, snuggling ever closer to him which made Xigbar soften his good eye and kiss the blonde's forehead. He smoothed the hair away from the sleeping face of the one person who had ever loved him, lovingly straightening up the robe the other boy wore that got mussed up from their make out session that took place not that long ago.

Xigbar paused when he saw a familiar white string around Demyx's neck.

No, it couldn't be...Could it?

The older Nobody sat there, hesitant to give into his curiosity. Only when Demyx shifted in his sleep did a small, glimmering object come forth to answer the question that was racking through Xigbar's mind.

It was indeed, the ring from his dreams.
