Description
It was a few hours later when the two Nobodies woke up. Xigbar cursed for having slept so long but Demyx insisted that he had needed it. They shared a soft kiss then got up, going over plans in their head about how they could escape from their prison.

"Well, we could always ask the others for help." Demyx said.

"Are you kidding? They'd never listen to us." Xigbar replied.

"Zexion and Lexaeus might. They seem to be in the same boat as us but they won't do anything about it unless they know they have our support."

"Well, maybe but...this is our fight. I don't want anyone else getting involved." Xigbar sighed. Or hurt for that matter. There have been too many people that have been hurt already.

"...You don't want them to get hurt, do you?" Demyx asked as if he could read the other's mind.

"Yeah, I like them. They're fairly decent." Xigbar half smiled to mask the sorrow that welled up inside of him.

"But it's not what this is about, is it?" The younger Nobody asked.

"No, it isn't." Xigbar sighed deeply. "Demyx, I have been having reoccuring dreams and nightmares for a while about my Somebody's life. And you were in them. Do you remember anything from when you were Myed, Demyx?"

"No...I can't remember anything. The only clue I have to who I was is this ring around my neck." Demyx pulled out the ring from under his organization robe that Xigbar recgonized so well. It almost made him tear up to see it again.

"I gave that to you when I was Briag. I was so in love with you back then that I wanted to marry you on the spot but I decided to wait until you were older. But we never got the chance. Tragedy struck swiftly and I never saw you again until now."

Demyx blinked back the tears in his eyes and smiled softly. "I knew it. I knew this ring was special...Now I remember why."

Xigbar kissed away Demyx's tears. "We're together again, my love. Soon, we'll be free."

"But what about Xemnas...?"

"Let me worry about Mr. Superior. I'm going to have a rematch with him. And this time, I'll win."

Later on when Xemnas released them from their punishment to go to a meeting held that night, Xigbar approached their leader. He stood tall and proud, holding out his guns.

"Xemnas, you and I have a score to settle."

Xemnas just laughed  Xigbar's challenge off. "You haven't learned your lesson from last time, have you? You can't beat me." He sneered.

"I can and I will." Xigbar let off a warning shot. "Come on, fight me. Or are you too scared?"

"Far from it, Number Two. If you want to fight me so bad, you're on." Xemnas' amber eyes flickered with anger.

Xigbar smirked and said nothing more, shooting off his guns while Xemnas deflected the bullets with his crimson swords. Xigbar dodged the bullets skillfully and closed in on his former leader for a close range shot. Of course, it wouldn't be that easy. Xemnas had plenty of portals he could use at his leisure to faze in and out. But then again, so did Xigbar.

All the noise in the hall had stirred the other organization members from their rooms. They watched the battle from a safe distance, not knowing who exactly to side with except Demyx. He believed in Xigbar. He would win their freedom for them, he was sure of it.

The fight raged on, each Nobody getting a reasonable amount of wounds but none too serious to put one of them out of commission. Xigbar charged at Xemnas again only to be knocked back with such force that his eyepatch went flying and fell silently onto the floor.

"Give up, Xigbar. You'll never win." Xemnas spat in his face, forcing him against the wall.

"I will never give up. I'm not your broken bird who you can keep in this cage any more. I will win my freedom and Demyx's too!" Xigbar hissed, pushing Xemnas off of him and shot off a round of bullets.

Xemnas disappeared through a portal to avoid getting hit by the furiously thrown bullets and reappeared behind Xigbar, sneaking up on his blind side to run him through with his blade. At that moment, Demyx gasped and ran from the crowd towards the fight, pushing Xigbar out of the way just in time. Then he winced in pain. Looking down, he saw a familiar deep red blade sticking out of his chest. He coughed up blood, looking back at Xigbar.

"Xigbar...I did it, I protected you. See? I told you I could do it." Demyx smiled then closed his eyes, falling forward onto the ground. A pool of blood slowly seeped out around the Nobody.

"DEMYX!" Xigbar ran over to him and held the limp body of his love in his arms. He cried silently, holding him tighter. "No...This can't be happening. Please tell me you're not dead. I need you..." The older Nobody sniffed, stroking Demyx's cold cheek.

Xemnas smirked, watching the two. He shook his head, laughing cruelly. "He always was a fool. Believing that we have hearts when we have none, loving someone like you...Now look where it's gotten him. All I can say is good riddance."

Xigbar kissed Demyx's lips and laid him back down lovingly, turning around and glaring at Xemnas. He shook with anger, his single golden eye the coldest it had ever been. "Stop laughing right now!" The entire castle shook as Xigbar's voice echoed off the walls.

"What do you know!? At least Demyx was a decent person and not a power hungry freak like you. He never did anything wrong. He always did the right thing. He believed we have hearts because we remember what it was  like and if we trust in those feelings, we can regain our hearts ourselves without having to use Kingdom Hearts. As for loving me, he loved me because he saw past my appearance and saw the real me. You could learn a thing or two from him, Xemnas. That is, if you weren't so fucking uptight and close minded."

As Xigbar said each word, a whirlwind of shadows formed behind him. They were formless and dark, darker than the deepest night. Unknown to Xigbar, the water magic he had gained from touching Demyx's body was mixing with the shadows. The two elements continued to mix together until they created a new element: shadowed water.
