Rage, all Xigbar could feel with every fiber of his being was rage. The shadowed water that stood behind him was stormy and pure black as he walked towards his former Superior with a ice cold glare that could even outdo Vexen's most powerful ice spell.

He didn't care when Xemnas tried to slash through him with his sword, gaining fresh cuts with every blow he made. The Nobody still stared the other down, gathering his new found power bit by bit into his hand so he could make one sure-kill strike that would end Xemnas' life. It would not bring Demyx back but it would satisfy Xigbar's taste for revenge.

Xemnas tried one last time to cut Xigbar down before the golden eyed man took him down first but it only resulted in cutting Xigbar's hair tie. The silver and raven locks now flowed freely around his shoulders as Xigbar focused all his rage and suffering into one giant ball of shadowed water. He knocked Xemnas to his feet and held the orb to his chest, pressing down hard on it.

"This ends now, Xemnas. You will pay for what you did to Demyx. You will pay for what you did to everyone else here. Your lies will die with you. For you see, we do not need Kingdom Hearts to regain our hearts. We've had them all a long. All you need to do is look for the light inside of yourself and remember who you are. Demyx taught me that. And that is why we don't need you or Kingdom Hearts any more. Good bye, Xemnas."

Xigbar drove his fist through Xemnas and blasted him apart. Ashes scattered from where Xemnas once stood, littering the castle floor.

"I did it, Demyx...We are free now." Xigbar sighed shakenly and fell to his knees.

Lexaeus and Zexion ran over to their fellow Nobody to support him. The wounds the older Nobody gained were finally catching up with him.  He coughed up a bit of blood and winced, looking to either side of him to see his companions holding him up steadily. Xigbar smiled weakly and closed his eye, fainting against them.

I guess this is where it all ends... Xemnas is gone, everyone is free. Demyx is dead and I'm dying... But I don't care, at least I'll be with the love of my life. All I want to do now is rest...

He floated in the air as light as a feather, drifting through time and space. He saw flashes of his previous life. But these were not dreams or nightmares, these were true memories. All the happy times he had with Myed and the other children. How hard he worked just for them. How good it made him feel.

Tears found their way to Xigbar's single eye and slipped down his cheek. It made his heart ache knowing that he'd never see Myed or Demyx alive again. He deserved to live. He was a bright boy who died too young in both of his life times. It seemed so unfair that his beloved had been cheated this way.

Xigbar didn't care about himself as nearly as he did about Demyx. Demyx was his entire world. And when that world came crashing down, it left a big void inside of him. He might as well have been 'empty' without him.

The scarred man kept falling further and further into the darkness that was death. Xigbar didn't bother to fight it. A life without Demyx was no life at all. He was willing to accept his fate with open arms. But then, someone stopped him. Xigbar was too far into the endless blackness to see who it was. Whoever they were, he wasn't feeling friendly towards them at all. How dare they interrupt his quest to be reunited with his love in the afterlife?

The mysterious figure came closer to Xigbar and took a hold of his hand, pulling him away from the darkness. Xigbar looked up at the person's face out of reflex and widened his eye. What he saw before him was someone who wasn't Myed nor Demyx alone but the two of them as a whole person. A smile graced the boy's lips as Xigbar sized him up and vaguely recognized who he was.

"Demyx? You're whole now? But how did this happen?"

"I knew you were going to react that way. It seems that I have a lot of explaining to do. You see, Xigbar, when I died, I met the spirit of Myed along my journey to crossing over into the spirit world. After a long talk, Myed asked me a very important question. Would I be content to rest in peace or would I join with his spirit to become whole again and have a second chance at life. As you can see, I chose the latter. You can become whole too, Xigbar. All you need to do is find the will to live."

"Of course I want to live, Demyx. You're the reason I exist. Without your love, I'd be nothing." Xigbar smiled and held hands with his beloved.

At that moment, a light emitted from Xigbar. He could see Briag's spirit floating towards him with a smile and nod as he entered his body. One more flash of light passed and Xigbar was whole again.

"Come now, my love...Let's go back. Our friends are waiting." Demyx kissed Xigbar softly.

"Yes, let's go..." Xigbar kissed Demyx back and both of them faded into the welcoming shimmering light that would lead them back home.

When the two of them returned, they were greeted with smiles and warm embraces. Everything had changed when they brought the light back with them. All the Nobodies were now whole and The World That Never Was was gone. It had transformed into a new world, a world that had yet to be named.

"What should we name this new world...?" The newly reborn Ienzo asked.

Briag and Myed looked at each other and smiled.

"We shall name it...The World That Will Always Be."
