From my series of work based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft.This work is loosely based upon a painting made by the fictitious "Richard Upton Pickman". I took some liberty here and instead of placing the scene in the churchyard as is described inthe story, decided it would be more the case of the changeling youth learning by watching in the manner of canines. So here, an alpha ghoul demonstrates by doing, a manner of feeding upon a fresh corpse.
Some voyeuristic / necrophilic undertones here as well I suppose but that are secondary.

Horror art at its best. The lighting is fantastic, so are the colours. It took me a while to notice the guy lurking in the shadows- great touch!

I've never consciously thought about Bacon, but that's a compliment to be sure!

This looks fantastic. The dark, almost sickly colours work wonderfully with this concept, and the details in the textures were nicely executed. The background is also awesome; it's simple and doesn't take away from the two characters, but with the face fading into the darkness, it adds a certain amount of suspense to this.
This is just an overall wonderful piece of art, and a definite
