Story: 475 words
--------------

It was a cold and foggy morning in the Barroco horse stable center, even a few snow flakes were starting to fall to the white ground. Usually Shiras horses were always kept in her family estate barn, but the snow had became so deep that her trailer would have a hard time leaving, and she would never in danger her horses life. A lot of horses had been stables there from the weather, and shira would have to drive out so that she could ride her new mare.

Parking in the plowed parking lot she stepped down the small fall from her large truck to the icy ground. It was not as cold as she had thought, but the wind that blew seemed to chill her to the bone and she quickly placed her gloved hands on her pockets. It was a sketchy walk to the barn entrance, watching the ground to avoid the  patches of solid ice before waking through the large open barn doors.

The barn was quite packed as people were saddling, brushing, and cleaning there horses stalls. There was a lot more people than she thought, exusing herself a couple times while making her way to the back were Willows stall was. Even though they had only just started there journey together, the mare eagerly nickered to the approaching form she learned to recognise. A gentle pat on the neck was Shiras greeting, opening the latch to the door as to walk inside.

"Hey girl. You ready for a morning trail ride?" She said in a hushed time, everyone seemed to talk to there horses as a dull murmer floated in the air. The black leather halter sat on the front hook of the stall door, grabbing it to quickly slide it on willows face and clipes the lead to the bottom.

The tack room had a few hooks for the horses, so that saddling was easier. Shira quickly tacked the mare up and led her outside before mounting. It was then Shira saw a familiar face, like her about to set out on a morning trail ride in the snow.
"Bronwyn! Hey " she slightly shouted, pressing her heal gently as to get Willow in a quick trott, riding up along side the brown haired lady and her black stallion. With gentle smiles and slight idle chat they both agreed to ride out together, talking and laughing out through the snow.

They were both out far enough now that they took to a fast canter, riding over hills as the snow flew in the air like powder from the horses legs. Shira took the lead, smiling as they rushed through dead patches of bushes in the loop back to the stable.  The two girls might not have known each other well, but this was a good start to a great friendahip.
