Status Report: It’s been six days since The Incident. I’ve recovered the Core Computer and begun analyzing data read outs, and they don’t make sense. The pod was supposed to execute a 1,000 kilometer jump. Instead, it attempted a 10,000 kilometer jump, which is insane. We don’t have the power to attempt that kind of thing. I can only theorize why the auto-abort didn’t trigger. At least the system recorded we went off-target. Which, no kidding.

Sigh

In any case, I suppose I should mention The Child successfully acquired more clothing, and it’s everything I feared. I’m a mouse today. Yes, even the ears and tail, though the tail won’t stay on. I don’t have to do this, but The Child enjoys it, and it feels appropriate, given the circumstances, to do what makes her happy.

Speaking of, she just arrived home, which means playtime. The Child insists that it’s not good for me to work all the time, and invites me to playtime every day. Thus far, I’ve declined to join in. Tonight, I think I’ll just watch.
