I think the image looks totally okay no errors so far from what I can find; if you want I can take a copy and show this to one of my teachers at artschool next week, and they might give an possible proffesional critique if you're concern about your talents. After all there is no missing spots in background either from what I can see and shading background is difficult, but I personally think you're good at it.

That would be so sweet of you if you could do that for me. You have my full permission. I'd like to hear what they say. Also tell them that I'm self taught, I've never been to a proper art lesson in my life.

An average HB pencil (mechanical type) to draw him, and a 6B for the shade in the background. I draw really dark with an HB for some reason. I adjusted curves on this image in Photoshop to make it richer. -Kel
