Description pattern from Jan Messent's Knitted Historical Figures

materials- various sock yarns, cotton batting, brass wire, presstuds, beads, colored pencils for the rosy cheeks/nose

He is about 12in/32 cm tall -- 14in/36cm with the chaperone -- He has a wire frame inside, wrapped with cotton batting, so he's completely posable, but also soft. His chaperone, houppelande, and shoes come off, and in theory his jerkin and hose come off too, though they would be a pain to put back on, because of all the lacing.

This is lovely!
It looks like it took forever to make though, but well worth it!

thanks so much! the hat is my favorite part. It's called a chaperone, and was worn in the Middle Ages / Renaissance in Europe. They can get pretty jazzy.

You're welcome! Oh that's what the chaperone was, I was thinking chaperon haha. It does seem like a rather eccentric hat though.

It can be spelled either way. A lot of the clothes from that time period seem a little over the top today.
