Description
This is a render i did after testing a program called OGLE (The OpenGLExtractor). You can download it from: [link]It's like taking a screenshot in 3d of your favourite game, just press some hotkeys and it extracts openGL frame information and stores it in a file, i just took the ship and two storm troopers out of the scene and stuck them on a plane =\
The game is Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast [link] (one of my old favs)..
yeah, there are smoe photoshopping.. colours and stuff... meh..

This is excellent, creative use of colour to create something new and in a different context.
Has that old school charm about it!

Cool Photoshop/render effects! It looks kind of like the model-work from the original Star Wars movies... and the grain and color filters add to the vintage effect. It kind of looks like a 1930s airbrush painting or lithographic poster.

how do you go about actually extracting the models out of the game?

mmm it says in the OGLE docs
basically you put the OGLE config file and OpenGL32.dll in the games root folder, it should use the new OGLE opengl32.dll rather than windows default...
the new dll has functions for saving data, OGLE uses it to capture the 3d objects just by pressing hotkeys

nah only open gl, most old games use it, if you're lucky newer ones will have an option for it
