Recently, I've been drawing a few of the characters in some form or another having a sort of "super form", Omega and Atomic Girl for example, so I decided to draw another of the Sentinels who can achieve such a form, though in Apex's case, isn't necessarily a good thing. A key factor to Apex's story arc is the constant internal struggle he has with his anger issues and the animalistic powers that are attuned to it. The angrier he gets, the more at risk he becomes of unleashing the beast within him. It was that same beast that killed his abusive father and frightened his little sister that fateful night. Since then, he has done everything he can to turn his life around, to become a better person, and to seek forgiveness. Though he has made much progress with his therapy sessions with Aurora, as well as his friendships with the rest of the Sentinels, the beast that consumed him that night was still dwelling within him, waiting to be unleashed.
For this form to emerge, Apex would have to be completely enraged, such as seeing his little sister harmed or threatened. Once his rage takes over, his body goes through a drastic change. His appearance becomes more beast-like, with his body becoming bulkier and covered in fur. Any humanity he had is gone, acts more like an animal than a human. With this savagery, combined with his increased strength, speed and agility, Apex is a danger to both his enemies and his friends, as he lacks the capability to tell friend from foe. While it is difficult to get through to him like this, it is not impossible, so far only two people have any sort of chance of calming Apex down and returning him back to his normal state, Aurora, and his little sister, though he hopes his little sister never sees him again like this. While this may be a powerful form, it scares the hell out of Apex, for good reason. Until he can figure out how to tame the beast within him, he will do all that he can avoid turning into the beast again.
When it comes to the stats of this form, it's pretty straightforward. Increased strength and speed that can rival or even surpass Voo'Han. His senses also become more heightened than normal, making it nearly impossible to sneak up on him or lose him after he's got your sent. While he may not be bulletproof, his skin is much tougher, and take a lot more punishment than before, though he still prefers to rely on his speed and agility to avoid being harmed. While this form may not have any noticeable weaknesses, the fact that Apex is no longer in control of himself is a crucial flaw. In this form, he has the mindset of a predator, always on the hunt, and attacking with ruthless savagery you would see in large predators, such as lions, wolves, or bears. Still, if Apex were to learn how to be in control of this form, he would be a force to be reckoned with.
