Description Being both an accomplished MMA fighter and a crimefighter, Michelle puts herself through a rigorous, daily training session to stay in peak physical shape. This involves a combination of intense cardio and weightlifting. While she's capable of doing her routine at the Sentinel HQ, she sometimes works out at local gyms just to avoid being around Crimson Glory, who, as I'm sure most of you know, can get under Michelle's skin at times. While keeping herself in shape is a definite must when it comes to her lifestyle and career, there is another reason why she must stay in peak physical condition. That reason her Paoquan fighting style, the secret martial art that was taught to her by her father, former boxing champion, Paul "Sugah" Sweet. The Paoquan style revolves around a clear, focused mind, and concentrating the chi within your body (or kinetic energy from a scientific angle) into a single point to deliver a powerful strike capable of breaking down steel doors, smashing through brick walls, and breaking every bone in an opponents body. The Paoquan style was the secret to her father's success as a boxer, as it allowed him to deliver far more powerful blows than any of other boxer that faced him in the ring. However, the Paoquan was also the reason why he had to retire early. The Paoquan is like a double-edged sword, it grants the user immense striking power, but it also puts immense strain on the body, especially one that is not in peak physical shape. While boxers such as Michelle's father were in good shape in the upper torso, their lower body was not as well conditioned, at least that was the case for boxers back in Paul's day. As a result, the Paoquan damaged Paul's body to the point that he had to throw in the towel at the peak of his career. However, as a MMA fighter, Michelle trains and conditions her entire body, and as a result, her body can handle the strain that comes with using the Paoquan style better than her father ever could. This isn't to say that she's immune to it, even her body has limits, if she overexerts herself with the Paoquan, she runs the risk of causing permanent internal damage to her body, just as her father did. However, despite her hot-headed nature and reckless actions, she's actually quite careful when it comes to using the Paoquan, making sure to use the right amount of force needed for each strike, nothing more and nothing less, only pushing past her body's limits in dire situations.
When it comes to her training, Devil Cat favors weightlifting more than cardio, though she still makes sure she does her fair share of both. When it comes to weightlifting, she can squat a max of 430lbs, bench press 356lbs, and can deadlift 586lbs, impressive feats, despite not having actual super strength like Crimson Glory. Still, Michelle is out to prove that she's the baddest fighter on the team, and in the ring, and she won't stop until she has.
