I didn't want kid jack and kid ashi to see each other and then suddenly fall in love straight away (
I wanted to give the idea that that they were now friends and would continue to be and maybe in future become more
It's as Garnet from SU once said
"Love at first sight isn't real, true love takes time!"
And I wanted to give them all the time in the world
