I've always found Celestia's punishments rather harsh (*golf clap*). She doesn't give either Discord or Luna a chance to redeem themselves, sealing them forever in their prison of choice until they break out or die of boredom. It's not exactly surprising the first thing either of them do is cause lots of destruction when free. I'd be pretty mad too.I did this because I was thinking about Celestia supposedly being obsessed with cake and thought it'd be funny if Celestia chose to seal Discord because he stole a slice (the chocolate rain splash probably didn't help either). Also, I really wanted to challenge myself with Discord. He turned out alright, but there is something wrong with his eyes. I just can't put my finger on it.
Probably took me around ten or so hours, because Discord is darn fiddly to do. I'm still new to Inkscape and make loads of errors with layers and things, and when it comes to DIscord, he has so many nodes on his head that one slip and -BAM-.
Any comments would be appreciated! Also, if anyone knows a good tutorial on how to do rain, I'd love that. I planned to have a rain shower in this, but just couldn't get it to look right :/

The problem is that's Celestia did NOT choose the punishments, the Elements of Harmony did. All Celestia did was aim and shoot, not pick the punishment or for how long they would be in effect.

I like celestia's hair like that. I think I know what went wrong with the eyes... They're a bit too small, also the lines under the eyes don't help the rest of the body's pretty good!

Luna couldn't be redeemed at the moment, Celestia alone wasn't powerful enough to do that so she needed to keep her contained until somepony else could come along to use the full power of the Elements of Harmony and return Luna to normal.

I think the thing with Discord's eyes are his eyebrows? He's very expressive, and usually his eyebrows move with his eyes, like so: [link]

I think it's the mouth that makes the eyes loom weird, maybe it should be a little thinner and have the corners up more, if the eyes still dont look right then try moving them a bit to discord's right.

Hmm. I'll give that a go when adding in his beard and see if it does anything. I might make the left eye a little bit bigger too. Thanks for the tip!

Nice job. So, how is this Inkscake program working for you? Cause Im still looking for my ideal platform.

The program is InkScape and it's working great for me. I'm still quite new to using it, so I make a lot of errors and I haven't learnt how to use all the tools proper yet. One advantage with using vectors, which you may already know, is that you don't lose resolution when resizing or altering the shape of objects - something I find very useful as I can resize rather than erase and redraw. I can't really compare it to other software programs though because I've only used Photoshop a little bit before.
It's free so it's always worth a try.
