[full view please]OMG!! The Phantom of the Opera is one of the BEST movies ever!! The music is just so beautiful *sniff*
I felt so sorry for the phantom. he's such a lonely guy *takes him home with me* living down in the tunnels must not be good for his social skills.
Christine (Emmy Rossum) has the most beautiful voice! And she was only 17 when they filmed it!! gaaaaaahh! Such talent!
people, watch it NOW!
hm, spent so much time on their faces and christine still looks like a little girl, phantom still looks like a pedifile ¬_¬ baaaaaah...

Yesh Christine looks a wee young, but I love her expression and Erik...awwww..You can't tell if he's trying to be seductive or tender...leaves it open for interpretation which is cool because he's capable of both. Bravo! Love it! The movie was awesome wasn't it!!! Totally does justice to the stage show methinks. Hey...paws off....my phantom *steals and runs away* You can have the fop Raoul Mwahahahaha *calm* Faving! Bravo on a good piccy

I've seen the stage show 3 times and am one of those obsessed phans :Lol....The movie is brilliant in it's own right!! Sure they had to cut some stuff here and there, but all in all very faithful to the show. Gerry Butler was such a wonerful phantom (his singing is different for sure, but he wasn't a trained singer before the movie came along so his interpretation is a little rough but it works). It really is a wonderful movie! Seen it...er....5 times already

Well since you live in Canada I'm not sure if the show still runs there ( I know there is/or used to be a production there). If you're on the West Side of the country you could take a trip to New York were it plays on Broadway constantly.
I've seen the Broadway, London, and U.S tour productions and it really is worth it. Though I adore the movie there's nothing like seeing it live. Especially when you sit *gulp* right underneath the chandelier (like I did last time). I was in the 2nd row, front and center. It's amazing to have it rise and fall right over you. And when the phantom starts crying at the end...oh I was so close...I could've jumped onstage AND... ...shutting up now

aaaaaw, i think they really should do a canadian tour!! cuz i REALLY REALLY WANNA SEE IT!!!
*gasp* you mean they actually have the chandelier above the audience?? that sounds sooo cool!! is it like sitting in the audience of the opera house itself?? *eyes sparkling* oooooh, guess i should start saving up $$ to go to NewYork!

Oh yes indeed! I'm on a trip right now but once I get home I'll round up some links and pictures for you. It's just like the film...it starts at the acution with everything all covered up on the stage...the chandelier is huge covered right in the middle. He says "Lets see if we can frighten away the ghost of so many years ago with a little illumination.....GENTLEMEN!" there's a big flash and then they rip off the cover and the lights go on right when the organ of the overture starts booming. Then they rip the covering off the rest of the stage and you see the golden angel carvings and all the drapes and then wires connected to the chandelier start bringing it up and then out over the audience so it dangles right over. It's just like your part of the audience of the opera. And then when the chandelier falls it starts shaking and falls right down and then zooms forward onto the stage just when it's a few feet over the audience. It's really an experience to have it fall on you o_O

THAT'S SOOOOOO AWESOME!! I'd love you sooooooooo much if you could send those pictures!!! The broadway sounds almost exactly like the movie, only 10 times better since you're actually apart of it!! must see it!!! Is it on constantly? I hope it'll still be there when i finally actually go to new york! XD

LOL I'ver seen it four times! But I have yet to see the movie, since its only in selected theatres. I plan on seeing it within the next few days. From what I can tell, Gerard Butler's singing voice is VERY different...of course they are neither Sarah Brightman or Michael Crawford, but I'm interested in seeing how he plays the Phantom.

oh, I want to see the broadway production soooo badly!! Especially after seeing the film, which was amazing @_@ yeah, I think Gerard did a pretty good job for someone who hasn't had any previous singing experience, although he WAS in band during high school (haha, not that it really helps his voice)

Just got back from seeing the film...it was pretty good. I would have liked to see the Phantom as someone with a stronger singing voice, since I was under the impression that he was the strongest and most demanding singer, but Gerard did really good! He was very perty!

lol! i think he's the perfect actor for the phantom, even tho probably not the best singer but he still gets my approval!
