The feather in which you used is a great base for this photo. The hot pink spots contrasting with the dark, almost maroon, looking color is a great way for differentiating each element of the photo.
From what I see, the angle of the shot is is good and the blurred background keeps focus on the droplet and the feather.
My only concern is that using droplets is a very common idea. Plenty of photographers use this idea, but that shouldn't discourage you or the photo. It still is a great piece.
