Description
I was fooling with the mesh tool in illustrator one day, and ended up with what looked like a fish tail. Weird. I've been working on this off and on for the past month, with exams and holidays in between. I'm not sure where to put this, so it ends up in Miscellaneous, even though there's a fish.Illustrator CS2

Gorgeous!!! The colors are So bright and lovely!
Critique: Being that the koi is the focus in this piece, I thought it would have more detail (maybe in scales) to detract from the detail behind it.
Overall, Beautiful!!

Oh, forgot to ask >.<. What kind of fish is that? A goldfish? I see those in Japanese things all the time, but I've never been sure whether or not it's a a goldfish

Nice work. I especially like the highlights and luminous quality of the gold fish. Reminds me of Hong Kong and the Chinese art and design style.
The shading/roots on the mountain are also very stylish.
My only crit would be that the composition seems a bit unnatural. The objects are basically centred and the dotted line "looks" out, off the right edge of the image. I think maybe having a vertical piece, with all the things at the bottom would have worked better.
good stuff.

here fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy~!!!
Very oriental, I'm especially fond of the white dotted lines
Maybe if the koi itself had a bit more details, like the head and especially the fins, the fins look a little incomplete to me.
Actually it kinda looks like an elongated goldfish because of the lack of those distinct patterns (patches?) that are typical of most koi ...but koi are related to goldfish aren't they? o.0 *walks away rambling about the fishy fish*

snazzy snaz for sure!
ive no idea when it comes to the mesh tool, in fact ive abandoned illustrator in exchange for Flash 8 just recently.
its not such a resourse hog, and im far more comfortable with the program.
i love this fish!

Nice, I'm still yet to learn illustrator so I use Flash for my vector needs. Pity me.
Argh a print! I want it.
