I like to see this as a metaphor... the old library represented Lauren's vision of how the show should be... the new one represents how Hasbro thinks it should be... and its change represents the battle between bronies over the 2.

Twilight's new castle is awesome of course, however it seemed to be almost totally empty inside, so I think Twilight will suffer a bit to recover what she lost in her library. Her books, her personal things, her observatory and her laboratory.
