Awww!! ^^I love this so much!
I drew this for a contest, but there's three parts of it, so I'm not entering it until I get the other 2 out
The theme is spring, and the first 2 ideas that popped into my head were picnics and a spring festival, so I did this one, and the next is the festival

First of all, I'll just say that I think this is beautiful. The color choice, especially in the background, compliment their clothing and hair. The idea to add in the little things, like the eaten watermelon (I love that e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/m… " width="15" height="15" alt="

-Positives: The anatomy of their bodies look very natural as if they are really laying there, rather than somewhat blocky and rather awkward (ex. sharp elbows, back arched too much, bodies completely straight). The exposure and contrast you edited on the computer brings out the color out significantly, along with the softness that has been edited in to give it a soft look that matches perfect with the scene. The expressions in the face set the mood, especially Toshiro's. The detail on the picnic basket is good too. ^_^
-Improvements/Suggestions/Negatives: The drawing of the trees in the background look very rushed and have hardly any shape or detail, such as adding a couple leaves or blossoms here and there on the tree, and shading would make it look more realistic. The color overall looks rushed as well like you just wanted to hurry up and get it done. The color on Toshiro's pants could have used a bit more work, along with the background.
I also like how you added wrinkles in the blanket below his butt, but you should have more. ^_^
Mainly the coloring and background is what you need to work on most, but one thing that is reeeeeeeally standing out to me is Toshiro's right arm. His arm looks VERY unproportional compared to his body. His face, shoulder, and neck area make him look older than in the anime, thus showing that his torso needs to be longer. His torso is short. If you were to lengthen the torso, the belt buckle should be down near where Mariya's orchid charm on her pants are. His arm also is too long and curved. You're improving at a very fast pace and I bet in only a few months time, none of these will even be a problem for you ^_^ Your drawings are impeccable, and I bet your things you need to improve will soon be too! Just take some more time to add in detail and more care in your coloring and it will be more beautiful than it already is! Ya..LOL, I actually have a reason for a few things
In the reference pic I was using of him, it didn't show the elbow of his arm, so I didn't know how exactly to draw it, which is why it kinda looks a bit weird.
He is older in this picture, probably dating this maybe a year before they got married (there's a ring on Mariya's finger, if you don't see it, I did tht on purpose
I've never been taught to draw trees, so I don't really know how to do them well, so that's my bad, though I did mess up once or twice.
Thx for the compliment on the details! I've been trying to get better at those as I've learned more and more from experience, luckily it's coming along

Pretty much the guy physique is a lot like girls, just not so curvy. For good references on both guys and girls, I have a folder in my favorites listed "Tutorials" if you want different body types too! They're really helpful
Trees are a pain in the butt! Drawing them all realistically with every branch and leaf would take you forever. Last year for one of my entries into the art museum, my background was mainly branches with no leaves and it was around the size of an 18" by 24", and it took me DAYS to get them all in. (I'm guessing about a total of 10 class hours?) So you don't really have to add in a lot, but maybe a branch poking out here or there and adding leaves on it?
[link] This is a good reference of what I'm talking about. Simple, but not too simple. It has ruffles of leaves and shading along with branches poking out. Really that's all you need to make a decent tree.
The more you get into lots of different styles and mediums, the better ^^

This is a really sweet scene. I think these two make such brilliant couple! You can almost feel the love they share when looking at this. I love how Yattamori's hair is all over the place, so lovely! I want her hair! :3 and Hitsugaya's expression is so sweet and gentle....Its nice seeing him without that grumpy expression he always seems to have. The only problem I see that could use improvement would be that it looks a tad messy. But that is not so bad. You've got some real talent there! Overall this is a very sweet and amazing piece of art!!
