It's been a while since I've made a willow tree. Recently I've been really interested in Japanese culture and just Japan in general. I know willow trees are probably not one of the first things you'd think when you think of Japan but it did for me I have another tree coming up soon that will probably be more related to the Japanese culture so watch out for it!

I didn't like how my last willow tree came out. I really like the way willow tree's leaves just droop down. When I was very young, my parents actually had a willow tree (I believe...I was very young but I remember the drooping leaves!). I would play around the tree a lot because it would always make me feel like I was on some mystical place. Anyways, I wanted to create the 'drooping and semi-mythical effect' on this pendant that I didn't feel it had on my last one. I decided that instead of using beads on the leaves, I'd use wire. I really like how it turned out and I think I'll use wire leaves a lot more than bead leaves for willow trees
