Pretty self-explanatory. I'm starting a job doing pixel art, so I should at least show it off.

I think I used GraphicsGale for this one, but if you're going for non-animated sprites, Photoshop works. Cosmigo ProMotion is a good one for animation, too.

There are many tools used for pixel art, but specifically, every image processing software can be used for it.
I, for example, use a lot of different softwares, not for a specific reson, just for fun.
-Adobe Photoshop.- I personally find this one to be less suited for pixel art since it possesses a hybrid canvas configuration that expands pixels in 4, so they create "minipixels". Definitely not the tool for begginers.
-Adobe Fireworks.- My prefered tool for pixel art. Powerful, simple to use and with a 1.pixel grid available, it's the best tool i've used so far.
-The GIMP.- People who can't buy photoshop use this free program, don't know if it's good for pixel art since i don't have it installed.
-Idraw.- A program specifically designed for pixel art. It was never finished so it's functionality remains basic. It is still a very good tool for begginers.
-MS Paint.- Some say this is the best program for pixel art, but i hate it with all my soul. It's far too basic for my taste.
There are others, but i just list these ones. I hope i was helpful.

I don't think it'd say much... I only put pixels where I thought they'd look good and that comes with years of artistic study and devotion.
