Description I'm not amazing with tutorials, but the last one I made seemed to help you guys, so I figured I'd oblige when you asked for a tutorial on how to shade hair in MS Paint. Because evidently I have some sort of magic method.

Like all tutorials, this is meant to be followed step by step. If you read through it all at once, it might be kind of confusing. Just follow it one step at a time, I promise it'll be fine.

Hopefully this was helpful to some of you peeps!
Do not trace, copy, or re-post without my permission. Referencing the shading technique itself is the whole point, but the actual art may not be used.

It definitely couldn't hurt to try this technique on other things! But don't be afraid to develop your own method of shading.

Oooh, psh it's ok. When i first got it, i experimented everywhere. So .. you know, just try it out!

And i would be soooo glad if you made one.

I can tell you some of the pixeling tools;

Binary
Binary Eraser

You have to create an eraser for the binary tool. I can tell you if you want!

I suspected it, but I could not fathom that one would be able to wield a mouse with such skill, such as this...

Kinda hot... not gonna lie.

Haha oh god.

Well, my mouse and I have been bros for several years, and I have the mouse speed set relatively slow so that I can draw without too many bumps or derps.

Do a tutorial of how to make a base

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sergle In reply to xxBrandy [2012-11-02 23:59:45 +0000 UTC]

But there's no process to that! xD You just make a body and a head, clean up the lines and make it ready for you to use.

xxBrandy In reply to Sergle [2012-11-03 00:05:07 +0000 UTC]

I know but i am so horrible at it D:

Sergle In reply to xxBrandy [2012-11-03 00:13:50 +0000 UTC]

Aw. xD
Well you can use references to get better at drawing bodies, whether it's for humans, cats, dogs, whatever. You don't need to wing it every time, just practice at it. I've always made my own bases, and it's helped my art in the long run.

xxBrandy In reply to Sergle [2012-11-03 00:17:36 +0000 UTC]

Thats what i really want to move towards. Doing all of my own bases. Im just so crappy at it lol

Sergle In reply to xxBrandy [2012-11-03 00:31:27 +0000 UTC]

xD Well you have to suck for awhile before you can be good at it.
