Overexposure to any emotion which is not wholly positive can cause insanity, especially if accompanied by extreme shock, but it's quite a line to cross.
This seems like it's on its way, but has a few yards left, so to speak.

It's just attention-grabbing anyway. Once it's brought to light everything is fixed.
Thing is, the piece in question looked a little different from the others to me. Even if it's a mass steal some individual works could be from elsewhere, like another artist.
That and the "no tegaki this time" line, since the other works were all tegaki.

Well, insanity is a difficult thing to "make" since it is inherently unpleasant and thus slightly repulsive.
Have you watched/read Soul Eater? It has a very intricate relationship with insanity/madness.
