Entry for 's contest.
This is more experimental than anything. When I was younger, I made a bunch of stupid-looking fakemon, though one of them ended up being my trademark username, Serpanade. So I made these for a Fakemon starter contest. While I did have fun making all three of them, my naming convention is lame
I was going for mythical creatures for these starters. Bavine (combo of "Baa" and "Vine") is based on a vegetable lamb, a plant that grew sheep. I kept with that concept by having him covered in vines and having a bud on his head. I think when he evolves, his bud would become a berry or something. I think Bavine would evolve into a Grass/Fairy type. Cinfoo (combo of "Cinder" and "Foo Dog") is based on a Chinese Foo Dog. These are the guardian lions seen on statues. Their real-life counterpart is a Chow-Chow, which is what I was going for here. Though I think he would become more lion-like as he evolves. He would eventually be a Fire/Ground type. Nyxie (a variant of "Nix") is my favorite out of all of them. He's based on the brook horse from Scandinavian mythology (I'm getting into Scandinavian mythology lately). I wanted a somber look for this starter because the brook horse is a mysterious and frightening figure. The brook horse is described as a white horse that drowns people, so I had Nyxie's main color be white, albeit with blue water-like markings. He would eventually be a Water/Ghost type.
I might make their evolutions at a later date, but I wanted to focus on the starters for now. Hope you enjoy!
