Description Or the last few weeks it's came to my attention that I have insomnia.
I tend to stay up till 12-12:30 and cover up under a warming blanket and warm room in the dark. But as I relax my body my brain decides to go in overdrive and starts to fill my brain with all kinds of random thoughts. Sometimes they are characters or stories for comics, or just random shit like "Will Season 4 of Samurai Jack be done in hand drawn animation or Flash?" or "How much does the Earth weigh?". None the less, it last awhile and only ends when I just pass out.
Oddly though, I can fall asleep in a moving car in minutes. Especially in the day.

Hmm...ADHD? I know that because of my ADHD, as early as 4 years old I needed to take medication just to even sleep at ALL, much less actually get to sleep quickly. I'm still ON medication for it. To this day, if I don't take my meds at night, I literally cannot sleep for up to 48 hours before I finally tire out. Even doctors agree that going cold-turkey on those meds could be threatening to my life. XD

I haven't been medicated in years, but I really need to be again, for more than just ADHD too

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Unownace In reply to SesshaXIII [2016-05-07 02:18:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh, so you DO have an official diagnosis. I bet most of the people who commented on this deviation do, too. XD

To be fair, I've been on various forms of the medication since early childhood, meaning that my body as become so accustomed to them that in order to safely go off the completely I'd have to ween myself off them over a period of several months to years. XD

I was diagnosised when I was 7 and taken off medication when I was 14 because they said "I'll grow out of it". I didn't and it's since then gotten worse. Mostly from 16 on

Unownace In reply to SesshaXIII [2016-05-07 02:39:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the "you'll grow out of chronic neurological disorders" theory is EXTREMELY outdated and debunked. ADHD, like Autism, is for LIFE. You're born with it, and you will carry it with you to your death-bed. It's TRUE that some people with it can eventually find alternative coping mechanisms for it besides medication, but this usually takes YEARS of practice, intense Jedi-level discipline and determination to achieve. Frankly I think it's just a lot easier to take the meds every night, as long as you can find ones with minimal negative side-effects.

yeah, though I no longer have insurance anymore so I don't know when I'll manage to be medicated again : /

...You see now, THIS is why Amurica is falling so behind on the healthcare-front. XD Almost ALL the other first-world countries in the world now have universal healthcare covered by taxpayer money EXCEPT the U.S. XD

Yep, because of whiny people

Unownace In reply to SesshaXIII [2016-05-08 00:02:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh, Canada has it's fair share of Whiny people too, I assure you. It's just that where most of Amurica's whiny people are 4Chan'ers, the Canadian ones are Tumblerites. XD

I know how that feels, because this is often what happens to me at night as well. Often I end up having strange dreams if this is the case.

SesshaXIII In reply to Masterge77 [2015-12-22 23:55:54 +0000 UTC]

it's pretty much every night for me, only exception is when I'm sick, then my brain doesn't care for thinking

Masterge77 In reply to SesshaXIII [2015-12-23 04:46:10 +0000 UTC]

I'm often the same here, most nights I often think a lot faster than I do when awake, though there are times in the daytime when my mind speeds up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SesshaXIII In reply to Masterge77 [2015-12-23 13:44:30 +0000 UTC]

same, though for in the day faster thinking tends to happen when I'm in a bad mood
