This has got to be one of my favorites of your work--the texture and brushwork is just amazing. I especially like the monk's face; it's so suggestive.

Thank you. This was a step away from the usual tree or bird work I do. I came across some older collage savings and scraps. I thought I would put some of it to use.

Thank you. The tree was not supposed to be there originally. The leaves of the tree showed up while I was brushing on some medium. I decided to leave it and add a trunk. It worked out.

mm yes, your right now that I look at it again. Bad choice of words on my part. Not scary..no, but the big open desert, the long long shadows that are cast by the mysterious monk and the frames of the gateway, its very surreal and maybe a little unnerving. ahah I dunno, im usualy ok with explaining how I feel about a painting, but your pictures are so complex and bring forward to many emotions its actually quite hard!!
ahah anyway, once again, amazing job.
