I would still love a copy of the rabbit in the coffee cup if you can find it...

I love the style and color tones. Even though the colors are vibrant, it still has a peaceful feeling.
And congratulations for your DD by the way.

Not my usual color choice. I usually stick with muted, earth tone type colors. A student of mine had this green gold and I tried on a whim and it looked good.
Thank you very much!

This disturbs me. At first glance (when I saw the thumbnail on the list of today's DDs) I thought 'intriguing', and opened it up, fullview. At this point, I thought how stunning it is - the bleak style of the majority of the canvas, combined with the richness of colour and the almost illustrative depiction of the bird, and I, for want of a better phrase, fell in love with it. It's ethereal, whimsical and mysterious all at once.
While I still feel that way about it, it now disturbs me, too. The 'origin' of the red (bloodlike as some have mentioned) from the bird, that lone, drifting circle (originally a moon, now an egg), and the title of the piece suggest a far more tragic scenario; one of loss, loneliness, and heartbreak. A hidden message, almost.
I commend you for such an engaging and beautiful piece, and in traditional mediums too! -- a well-deserved DD if ever I saw one.
