Dirt? How do you put dirt in this. Do you sprinkle it over the paper and paint on top? This blows my mind. It looks like pastel on sidewalk.

I grind it up and mix it with water (not so much that it makes mud), paint or an acrylic medium and brush it on the painting. The color at the very top of the painting is the dirt with the medium.

i know this look! my cat watches birds and leaves tossed around in the wind this way. i love that huge shadow curve over his chest. somehow the intense posture wouldnt be the same without it.

This one is especially charming--I love how the strokes of the grass are repeated in the fur on his back!

You always have a way of using contrast that make the creatures leap right off the page. Gorgeous character, once again! It's so lovely and filled with life. I'm so intrigued by this piece; I find it hard to look away. ^_^ Charming.

Oh goodness. The charm of your pieces really comes out when viewed up-close. I love the character that is relayed to the viewer in the combination of your simple yet compelling artwork and story-set-in-a-sentence.

It's so simple but still so advanced.
You made a really good job with the body of the creature and the transition of it's chest. The grass looks very good and the sky is balanced

Thank you very much!
It gets tough to decide when to stop or know when the piece is finished.

I really like the depth in this one! The colors are quite nice and the texture really helps draw the eye in. I hope you make more images for this story too!

I don't see this simple -at all. The colour choice and the texture are amazing...
I can only imagine the story but I do hope his friends did come back with food

I have not developed the story further but I am sure the friends did return with food.
Thank you very much!

I can feel the anticipation of this too and the colors do bring out the mood of loneliness. Very nice!

Oh, this is so cute. I love how simplistic it is, but how much emotion is portrayed through it. I agree with the comment above - he seems lonley. The colors are just gorgeous.

Yes he's supposed to be lonely. I haven't developed the story but I'm thinking the others came back with food.
Thank you.
