One of my friends dared me to wear my pink wig to school...so I did, and one of my other friends said I looked like "Matt' from Death Note with pink hair. I thought it would make a cool deviantID....this friend makes a lot of interesting connections, mind you, but at least I can see this one. Matt is the 'Geek in the Pink'

I buy them on ebay, most are $25 or under. The only one I spent much more on was Duo's from Gundam Wing, but that's hair down to my knees.

I'll have to check some wigs out... I'd love to get one for Near & Matt (my usual Death Note cosplay people) and some pieces to other Death Note characters' outfits (oh, also got a Misa looking dress).

That's the great thing about Death Note; for cosplay, normal clothes usually work. You can get so much on Ebay, sometimes I wonder what I did without it.

Yeah, if you do it right I think you could, or just plain black jeans tend work. I don't really see Mel in mainstream Hottopic dress (to me that's more Matt), but everyone spins a character their own way. I think you could get it to work 
Because of crack one of my friends came up with, we might put a Ke$ha!spin on Mel for JAFAX, and I already turned Matt pink, so....CREATIVITY!

That'd be fun^^ It's just the whole Mello wears all black thing, I imagine more of the skinny Tripps if anything for him (a simplier design of course), and I'm sad, Tripps have died down, there are about only 10 people in my town that wear them (and few who know what they are) and you just became that much cooler that you know what Tripp pants are :3

Yes! *fistpump* I thought most people knew what Tripp pants were? It must be because the goth movement died down in mainstream. Goths wore all of them, emo's wore the skinny ones, scene kids wore them once in a while, and... hipsters don't wear them at all. Whatever's advertised, people will know what it is. When it's not, most either forget or move away from it.
Always wanted a pair to tripp pants when I was a kid, but never had the money for them. I'm a DIYer/thriftstore shopper when it comes to clothes. The only thing is splurge on is boots, and since I use Rivithead I'm not splurging too bad for what I'm getting. XD Discount shopper.

I get what you mean, alota people who don't dress "Goth" don't know what they are minuis things that "Fags" wear (stupid jocks... lol). I actually got my Tripp skirt from a thrift stre (didn't even know it til I got home and looked at the tag lol). Only Tripps I paid for were my skinnies and my skirt, got 2 pairs of baggy ones from a friend and another pair from my boyfriend. They're so comfy!

I don't really mind scene kids (or most fads that are going around), I just get sick of seeing it all over the place. Just because there's so many of them it heightens the chances that you'll run into a dippy one. Like when we were middle-school Narutards (I'm assuming you were one too because of your screen name XD ), most of us weren't THAT bad, but because there were so many of us you could find quite a few scary ones pretty easily.
I understand what you mean though, sometimes I just want to ask "What are you? Stupid?" but then I realize that some are just too young to know better, or it'll go in one ear and out the other. And then I know....when I get older I'm going to be a horrible geezer
