Description I may have told you once or twice before
about how you make me feel
though i doubt you realize what you truly mean to me

I think about you all the time
   while I work
   while I eat
   while I sleep
   while I'm alone

I wonder how I coped with things before you were around
I wonder how I ever got through some of those bad days, weeks, months ... and even years
You've been there for me through it all
   the thick and thin of daily life
   complicated and messy relationships
   dangerous and safe moments in time
   my own personal struggles with self

always above and beyond the call of duty
often above and beyond everything ...
I feel privileged to call you my friend

Time may take us apart, or it may bring us closer together
Whatever the outcome life has in store
I'll always remember the lessons you taught me
   'bout life
   'bout love
   'bout dreams
   'bout me

You're the best anyone can ever be; don't change
I love you for all that you've done and continue to do
