A while back I worked on a fanfic that touched on this oft-speculated pairing. An original villain attempts to sway each of them with "what their hearts most desire." When he comes to Pluto, she refuses to answer him, so he reads her mind. Without naming any names, he says "Still carrying a torch? If that's what you want, I could MAKE him love you..."
