I readily admit that my preferred media are pens and pencils, not paint and brush. When I've used paints, they almost inevitably turned into muddy messes (except when I was using an airbrush). But a few days ago, my husband and I discovered that he has prostate cancer (early stage, small amount, very treatable according to the doctors, but cancer is a terrifying word, no matter how good the prognosis), and I needed a distraction so I wouldn't spend all my time brooding and crying. I bought myself a painting app for my iPad and decided to give it a go to see if it would be any better than working with physical paints. Well, a little. There's still undo to save the thing from being completely ruined. But I think I still prefer even digital pens and pencils. This was obviously done using a still from the movie as a model (when you're practicing in an uncomfortable medium, it's better to have that crutch to follow).
