Description

Here we go..as per usual with some delay, here is the motive of my 2022 christmas card. I'm quite happy with it for once. The idea and much of the motive actualyl comes from narnia's lantern XD I wanted a lantern in snow and recalled that there was one in that movie.

This is yet another painting done on toned paper. I meant to continue doing portraits and start on harsh sunlight sorta effects in 2022. I didnt really do portraits at all i did at least do a ibt of more hm....lighted scenes overall. That being said, it really turned more into experimental aquarell year with the toned paper-images and me going a lot more crazy on colors. So yeah....funsies.

That being said, strictly speaking the painting isn't all done which is also my personal main critisisym there are two different grades of detail within the background on layers that are more or less the same just different color schemes. With that info, I'm sure most will spot what i mean however. I did not think that the risen detail improved the painting but rather that it made it worse so i toned that down and forced myself to stop lol. so yeah...that's really all there is to say about this. That and that i looooove this color that makes this white-pig-color sorta hue. I have always had it, never used it. I came to loove it on toned paper most and foremost on in a scene like this. It goes through a few shades before drying so its a bit tricky but soooo much fun.

I think it's this one: amzn.eu/d/a0ef1lj although the color i have is like 20 years old and i am not super sure if they didn't change the number. Mind you the spot in the aquarell box thingy set also matches the one in mine so yeah....think that's the one. The name is super confusing though.. how is that yellow? Anyway...just in case anyone was curious.
