The 'bodhi tree' refers to the tree under which the Buddha was said to have achieved enlightenment, and this piece is a somewhat abstract, impressionistic representation of that idea, hence the title. The 'buddhabrot' here comes from the Nova-Mandelbrot formula.

I just realized that the title and theme of my fractal is similar to one by another artist LuxJai [link] . My choice was accidental and definitely not intentional, but I want to acknowledge the artist and her work. The link is here [link] and it is a marvellous fractal.
