When the fifth city fell it brought humans into the neath. Here they were forced to live among the darkness, ill fitted for a life of permanent black.
But the gigantic caverns below are as old as Earth itself, and its original denizens have had millions of year to evolve.

They lived in darkness, hunted in darkness, thrived in darkness.

Humans may have considered themselves the lords and caretakers of the surface, free to exploit it however they saw fit.

But down in the neath, across the dark sea, aeons older than they, humans are nothing but prey.
