SPOILER FOR DHsnape is a creepy stalker! but they were friends at this point, of course. on the train to hogwarts, i wanted to add in james and sirius (my favorite characters!) but i didn't have space...
EDIT snape's hands are a bit wonky, but i tend to think he's sort of reaching out to calm lily, who's obviously upset.

He wasn't a stalker!He was a shy, insecure kid and was in love with Lily and didn't know how to approach to her (you may have noticed that I LOVE Snape and I'll defend him till death,hehehe

True, but he still used to watch them play. That can cute to some, and would be to me, if he hadn't grown up to be so bitter and mean. I do agree with you, the book even said that he'd been building up for an opportunity to talk to Lily about her magic, but Snape still did watch Lily and Petunia from the side. I guess I described him as a stalker more because of adult Snape's behavior, not because I think that's what kid Snape was like.
Hehehe, I'm totally the same about Sirius. I love him beyond belief, but DH brought out a Snape-liking side of me!

But adult Snape behaviour is later than child Snape, and he was not bitter or wicked when a child.If he became a bitter and twisted man was because of the circumstances of his life (their parents neglected him, he was abused at home and at school, and the only love of his life run to his worst enemy's arms, etc...). And abused childrenΒ΄s behaviour is very well reflected on Snape (they're insecure, extremely shy, have emotional instability and difficulties to interact with affection with other people)
