Edit: Watermark is gone.Since Mario and gang suddenly forgot how to breathe underwater, they're gonna have to rely on other methods of getting coins, stars, etc. when it comes to diving in the deep. So, why not scuba gear?
We always see the residents of the mushroom kingdom takin' up some sort of hobby. Whether it's tennis, golf, soccer... you name it, they did it. Well, except deep sea diving.
A commission for of the princesses of the Mario series. Hope I did a decent job.

Nice pic, but how is this canon? As far as I know, neither of the girls have ever worn that in any game. (Yes, I'm going to keep bugging you about this canon stuff until you become a "free" artisan!) :-P

Already told ya. It has to be canon, or a POSSIBILITY of it becoming canon. The Mario games have the chraracters doin' practically everything under the sun (skiiing, olympics, racing, basketball, etc.). I don't see it too farfetched for the scuba-diving as well.

Good. I just got lots of ideas for a new comic. I hope you also know that Peach does a lot of butt attacks in Smash Bros., and she wears a thong and mini dress in the sports titles.

I don't know. I may stylize Peach to my way of drawing, but I try to stay within' the confines of her body type. She doesn't have a huge badonkadonk like Ruka (and Peach's butt is way firmer), so don't expect Peach havin' a balloon booty from me. That's more like style (not that I'm knockin' it. Awesome dude.
Anyway, Peach wearin' a thong? I think that's one of the Tennis titles if I'm not mistaken. I remember seein' a pic, but I don't know if it was real or not. I'll have to research it.

It's as real as it gets. You can research all you want, but you'll always come across the fact - she wears a thong. Also, her butt is bigger in the sports titles and it doesn't look exactly firm to me.
