One of 2005's christmas cards that I send to my deat LJ friends!Postcard sized aquarel painting starring Rodney McKay and John Sheppard of Stargate Atlantis.

This is really beautifully done; subtle shadows, delicate lines, great color contrast. Did you use india ink and aquarel, or just the aquarel?

It's aquarel colours, though I might have used gouache colours as well. The tubes are kind of mixed up in my box. Uhum.
I generally don't like using inks on thick aquarell paper, it's too thin for it, imo.

Oh this is all real hand drawn. Well, painted. With Gouache and watercolours. I manipped the pics in PS to be drastically black and white, then sat in front of my screen and painted them on a postcard sized aquarell block. This one and the other sga crads were Christmas cards 2006.

I've loved these cards since I first saw them on LJ. I really like the color and the playing-card composition. And how you use the extreme contrast of the black-on-bright to capture the likenesses. Very cool.
