No offense intended, really, I'm a yank myself you know.
I don't drive a Hummer though, and I try to keep my 'carbon foot-print' as low as possible through recycling/reusing/etc. I may be way off base as to the inspiration of the piece, but it seems to portray what D.H. Lawrence referred to as "The Essential American Soul".
We over-consume, we waste, we pollute... you know, American.
